ON FRIDAY, a feature on Wedi 3 was of local performers Rosalind Moore and Wynford James, well-known as 'Love on a Piano'.

They have brought together a show that is most pertinent in this anniversary year.

The setting is Trafalgar Square on May 8, 1945, when joyous crowds celebrated the end of the Second World War in Europe.

The show is aptly named 'The Boys are Back', as many soldiers at the square were indeed 'boys who had come home', many of them to meet their loved ones after years of separation.

In the show, Wynford himself had come home and had been urged by his fellow squaddies to play a piano which they had managed to provide.

Rosalind knew Wynford from childhood days and they were both caught up with the excitement of the occasion. But Rosalind was there to meet her sweetheart Harry.

A CD of the show was prepared by Wynford and Rosalind based on a 'live show recording' performed in Devon on D-Day 2008. This CD is available by e-mailing [email protected]">[email protected]. A great feeling of joy and excitement has been created in this production.

Of course, there are other important events that they celebrate yearly and Rosalind and Wynford are continually updating their repertoire so that these events can be catered for.

If you missed the 'Love on a Piano' performance on Wedi 3, you can catch them on the Roy Noble programme on BBC Radio Wales at 2.30 pm on Monday, June 21.

A complete performance of 'The Boys are Back' can be seen on the Glanfa Stage at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, on National Armed Forces Day, at 2 pm, Saturday, June 26.
