Tenby RNLI’s lifeboat crew were called into action after a member of the public fell whilst on Caldey Island, suffering a suspected broken ankle.
Both of Tenby’s lifeboats were launched shortly before 3.30 pm on Tuesday, May 13, making best speed to Caldey, where several cas-care trained crew members were dropped ashore using the inshore lifeboat, due to the state of the tide.
They were soon with the casualty, who was assessed and given pain relief, before being brought down to the jetty and taken aboard the lifeboat for the short trip back to Tenby.
Once back on the slipway, the casualty was met by a crew from the Welsh Ambulance Service, before being taken to hospital for treatment.
