A family has raised an incredible £12,088 for Wales Air Ambulance in memory of their much-loved daughter Katie Worrell from Pembroke, tragically killed in a road traffic collision on the A477 with her boyfriend Adam Muskett of Tenby last year.
The Wales Air Ambulance crew treated twenty-five-year-old Katie on scene and flew her to the University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff, where she sadly passed away.
The family are extremely grateful to the Charity for giving them hope and time with Katie following the accident alongside twenty-seven-year-old Adam.

As a thank you and in memory of their daughter they climbed Pen y Fan with Katie’s family and friends.
Katie’s mum Karen said: “The Wales Air Ambulance crew made their best efforts to save our Katie and to give us hope, a chance we wouldn’t have had without them.”
A group of around thirty people, hiked the highest peak in South Wales Pen y Fan, which is situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park, on a ‘beautiful sunny day’.
Karen continued: “It was quite tough, but we all pushed one another to get to the top. We raised a glass to Katie and Adam at the top, it was such an achievement for a lot of us.”
Karen, her husband Mark and son Ryan set themselves the fundraising target of £1,000. They’re amazed to have raised an incredible amount for the charity.
“We cannot believe we have managed to raise such a massive amount of money for this amazing Charity, and we cannot thank them enough for helping Katie,” she said.
“It just proves what an amazing job the air ambulance does, and also how much our beautiful daughter was loved by so many people.”
Katie’s family and friends were joined on the climb by her friends who travelled from Pembroke, Cardiff and Bristol.
“Thank you to everyone that has supported us in keeping Katie’s memory alive.”
Since Katie’s passing and as another way to say thank you to the Charity, Karen is planning on volunteering for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Hannah Bartlett, supporter engagement manager for Wales Air Ambulance, said: “Katie’s family has raised an incredible amount for our Charity in her memory. It’s humbling to hear that Katie’s family and friends joined together to climb Pen y Fan in her memory, which is a beautiful way to honour her.
“It was touching to hear that they all raised a glass in memory of Katie and Adam when they reached the summit.
“The family know first-hand how important our service is, and although it isn’t always the outcome we’d like, it is important that we are there to try and save lives across the country; providing comfort to families that everything that could have been done to save their loved ones, was done. Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts remain with Katie and Adam’s family.
“Thank you to everyone who took part in the fundraiser. Your support will help us to continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most.”
