A report of two people potentially cut off by the tide had the volunteer crew of Tenby RNLI rushing to launch the lifeboat into rough seas.
The Haydn Miller was requested to launch shortly before 5.30pm on Monday, August 19, after the Coastguard received a report of two people possibly cut off by the tide at Worm’s Head.
The volunteer crew members were soon heading down the slip and launching the lifeboat straight into the sea, still rough from the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto.
About ten minutes into the 18 mile trip east, it was confirmed that the people were fishing and in no danger, so the lifeboat was stood down to return to station, arriving at 6.05pm.
