Tenby’s all-weather lifeboat the Haydn Miller was launched shortly before 5pm on Friday, July 21, following a report from a lone sailor aboard a yacht, stating he was in difficulty.
Due to being tired and disorientated, the sailor couldn’t give an exact location, except that it was in the St Govans area.
Tenby RNLI’s volunteer crew made best speed toward St Govans, as Angle lifeboat was also launched to assist.
The crew of the Haydn Miller soon found the yacht off St Govans and a crew member was placed aboard to assist and reassure the occupant, who stated he was heading towards Milford Haven when he suffered an issue with his rigging.
A short time later, Angle lifeboat arrived on scene and set up a tow to take the disabled yacht to its original destination.
The lifeboat was then stood down to return to station, arriving at 6.30 pm.
