Police have confirmed that a sixteen-year-old male has been arrested this morning (friday, October 11) after an incident involving a Carmarthenshire secondary school.

Ysgol Bro Myrddin in Carmarthen was placed into lockdown after a ‘threatening message’ was aimed at one of the school’s students.

A police spokesperson stated: “Dyfed-Powys Police attended Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin this morning, Friday October 11 at approximately 11.20 am. 

“Concerns were raised following a threatening message against one of the pupils of Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin, Carmarthen. The messages were not from a student within the school. 

“The school took appropriate safeguarding action which concluded swiftly. 

“One boy, 16, has been arrested in connection to this incident and we are not looking for anyone else.”
