Joshua Beynon, the County Councillor for Pembroke Dock: Llanion is setting up a group locally with women on what would make them feel safer in Pembroke Dock and Pembrokeshire.
Joshua Beynon said "with all the news around Sarah Everard I wanted to see what would make women feel safer locally in Pembroke Dock and Pembrokeshire. It’s not up to me to tell women what would make them feel safe so I want to hear from them on what they think can be done locally and is achievable.’
Almost one in three women aged 16-59 will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime and two women a week are killed by a former or current partner in England and Wales alone."
As to what you can do, Josh has said "If you live local and have some ideas on what would make you feel safer in Pembroke Dock then please message me your email address as I want to set up a focus group." This will be in a few weeks time.
As part of this group, the Police and Domestic Abuse Pembrokeshire Support (DAPS) will be attending and Josh says "whilst I can’t promise you that I will be able to change things, I want to listen and see what we can push forward together."
