Public conveniences in the village of Penally look set to be saved - for the next year at least.

At Penally Community Council’s recent meeting, the ward’s county councillor Phil Kidney told members that the toilets, which are situated next to the railway station, will be reopened for 12 months.

During recent budget discussions, the long term responsibility of the facility came up, with Cllr Boyle reporting that an additional £12,000 would need to be added to the Precept to service and maintain the toilets.

As this would impact on council tax by increasing premiums; it was proposed the toilets remain the responsibility of Pembrokeshire County Council and the decision on whether to permanently close or continue operating the facility would fall on PCC.
