ANNUAL TRIP

Thirty-four members of Trefloyne travelled to The Bells Hotel and Golf Complex, Coleford, Gloucestershire, last week, for a three-day golfing trip. This annual short break was arranged by club treasurer, Mr. Barry Thorne.

Day one saw everyone arrive safely and getting straight onto the course at the Bells in an individual Stableford competition.

Some great scores came in, with the prizes going to the following: 1. Colin Jenkins 43 pts; 2. Graham Longster 42 (on countback); 3 Barry Thorne 42.

The evening was excellent, with fabulous food and a quiz night hosted by ladies' vice-captain Anne Morgan, with the proceeds going to our Juniors' fund.

Day two was a short trip to Forest Hills Golf Course where we arranged a Stableford team event (best two scores per team).

Again the course was in great condition and some good scores were achieved: 1. Martin Yates, Mark Ensor and Julie Jenkins 82 pts; 2. Dave Crowley, Rita Collins and Alan Griffiths 78.

On day three, numbers had dwindled slightly, with some sore heads on the first tee!

Again an individual Stableford competition was held with some excellent scores coming in: Keith Hubbard 44 pts (best gent); Rita Collins 37 pts (best lady).

In all, a really great three days golf, with some lovely courses and most of all, great company!
