Tenby swifts Under 16s ran out this past Friday for a fixture against Carmarthen Athletic at Heywood Lane. Athletic were to take control of the first half quickly with a converted try.
From there they continued to put the phases together and were next to score extending their lead. With the weather conditions forcing some errors the seasiders tried but failed to cross the line for any points of their own and the half time score sat at 0-12 to Carmarthen.
As the whistle blew for the second half the seasiders looked determined to play the conditions and keep control of the ball. Their hard work paid off. Carmarthen Athletic found themselves pinned in their own half. Tenby kept plugging away at their defence and would eventually be awarded with their first try scored by Ethan Lewis. With momentum fully with the seasiders but the clock running down Tenby threw all they could at the away team.
They would finally turn the pressure into points with their second try of the evening, this time Owen Grieve using his experience to get himself over the line. A fantastic kick by Alfie Pryor from the touchline in awful conditions saw the seasiders draw level with the last kick of the game. Final score 12-12.
