Congratulations to 17 ‘Dolphins’ from Tenby and District Swimming Club on a fantastic performance at the Llanelli Open Meet!

The competition was hosted by Llanelli Swimming Club at Llanelli Leisure Centre on Saturday, February 22 and was swum under FINA Technical Rules, Swim Wales Laws and Llanelli Development Meet Conditions.

So many new Waterdragons were attending their first gala. The Meet yielded a total of 27 new Personal Bests and lots of first time racing in events for Tenby swimmers.

The Tenby swimmers came away with an impressive collection of medals: 12 Gold, 15 Silver and seven Bronze.

A special mention goes to Frances Monan for the biggest Personal Best of 25 seconds in her 100 IM.

The club’s Facebook page carried a message of congratulation and thanks: “Well done everyone you should be very proud of yourselves. This gala would not have happened if it wasn’t for you all giving up your time. Your dedication to the club is amazing.

“Thank you Siân and Nicola for being on poolside and Emily for officiating. As well as Liz for Coaching the water dragons every week, for organising the team and entries. Not forgetting all our other volunteers that are poolside every week. Thank you Teresa, Caroline, Bronwyn and our welfare officer Alison. Also thank you Claire for your continued background support.”

Tenby and District Swimming Club is always on the lookout for more parents to make it possible to attend more events and keep the swimmers swimming. Email [email protected] if you are interested in getting involved.
