The picturesque setting, with its tree-lined fairways and many ditches, was a far cry from the links of Tenby and proved to be quite a challenge for the team. The weather was atrocious and the rain was constant throughout the whole day.
The first pair of Martin Morris and Matt Adams, after giving away shots to the home players, lost their match by 2 and 1, and Neil Thomas and Gary McNeilly were soon to follow with the same result, losing by 3 and 2.
Steve Suttcliffe and Idwal David were able to bring the Tigers back into contention with a win on the 18th green, only to see the next pair of Dai Cope and the new recruit to the team Matt Goldwait lose by 3 and 1.
Andrew Cope and the team captain Tony Key had an excellent tussle with their opponents, losing to the final shot of the round when a 15-foot putt dropped into the hole, sealing the fete of the team result.
Neil Webb and the consistent performance of Loz Phillips again won their match, giving the team two away points, which could prove to be invaluable at the end of the season as five of the teams in the league are within a few points of each other and any one of them could be relegated.
The last player out was Richard Ormond, who lost his match, giving the home team the honours by five matches to two.
