UNDER 10s

Last Saturday saw the Oakwood sponsored Tenby Under 10s (seen right) take on Camrose at The Clicketts. Another cracking sunny day provided the perfect setting for another strong Tenby performance.

Rhys, Eddie, Nathan and Charlie, took it in turns, both between the posts and in defence, to act as the springboard for many of the attacks. Cemlyn was also in superb form and the perfect example of a team player with his positioning and range of passing to set the midfield free.

Strength going forward was provided by Rhydian, while Ethan, Jobe and Ollie M used their subtle skills to create space and chances for others.

There were also plenty of goals to admire, with Keaton having one of those magical days when everything clicked. Ollie B again was the midfield general, while Logan and Willem worked their socks off for the team cause. Not forgetting Ieaun, whose striking of the ball from both set-piece and open play was excellent once more.

UNDER 11s

Tenby Under 11s (seen right) played host to Newport, Pembrokeshire, on Saturday, at The Clicketts. Captain was birthday boy, Dylan Kidd.

Tenby, who are unbeaten so far this season, took control of the game from the kick-off and within a few minutes saw an early goal from Tristan.

Throughout the game, Tenby remained strong in defence and solid in attack, with some lovely examples of confident and accurate passing between players.

In the first half, more goals came from Max and a further from Tristan and an unfortunate own goal, and at quarter time, Tenby had a comfortable lead of 4-0.

The second quarter showed much of the same, with five more goals, bringing the score to 9-0 at half-time.

Tenby, who have a large squad, rotated players throughout the game, even changing goalkeepers to allow Kyle some time out on the pitch, and each player held their own.

Newport remained calm under pressure, but Tenby were able to create many more chances and at threequarter-time, the scoreline had increased to 16-0. The game finally finished with a convincing win of 21-0.

Credit to Newport who, despite the scoreline, never gave up throughout, which showed some good character.

Well done Tenby on a truly solid performance.

Team and goals: Dylan K (2), Max (6), Kyle (2), Toby (1), Tristan (4), Leon (2), Jack (1), Iori (1), Fletcher (1), Dylan D, William, George, Jed and Ciaran.

UNDER 12s

On Saturday, Tenby Under 12s (sponsored by Trade Canvas Print and seen below) travelled to Camrose.

Tenby went into the match full of confidence after their excellent performance against Pennar Robins the previous week.

The match got off to a hectic start, with both teams full of energy. However, Tenby’s continued possession and territory soon paid off. Leo’s corner deflected into the goal from the Camrose defender to give Tenby the early lead.

Just when you thought Tenby would kick-on from that, it was Camrose who equalised. A cross was saved by Morgan, but the Camrose striker was in close range to finish off to make it 1-1.

That goal seemed to refocus Tenby. Their passing and interplay improved and as a result the goals started to flow. Zak finished from close range to make it 2-1. Leo then made it three with a lovely swivel outside the box and finished it off. It was soon deja-vu, when Leo made it four with an identical goal.

Although the majority of play was in the Camrose half, the opposition did have further chances, but these were thwarted by saves by Morgan and an excellent defensive display by Robbie, Finlay and later on Jay.

In the second half, Tenby continued their dominance. This resulted in probably the team goal of the game. Leo placed a through ball to Zak who laid it off to an oncoming Jack, who provided a thunderbolt from outside the box, which ended up in the back of the net without the goalkeeper even moving.

For the next goal, Finlay made a surging run deep into the Camrose half and had his shot saved, however, Noah pounced on the rebound to make it seven. Brandon made it eight, minutes later.

Tenby continued to pass the ball around and as a result had their ninth goal. This time Zak found Archie on the wing, who then whipped in a cross for Jordan to finish off.

Tenby’s set play then had an outing. Two corners from Leo resulted in Zak rising the highest in the box and each time finding the back of the net with fantastic headers.

Tenby then made it 12, when Archie’s effort was saved, but Jordan was close by to finish off. Leo grabbed another to make it 13. Jordan then got his hat-trick when he was first to react when Morgan cleared from his box. The ball ran through to Jordan, who had a one-on-one with the oncoming ’keeper and made no mistake with the finish. Brandon wrapped things up with the individual goal of the game. Following silky skills outside the box, he expertly finished off with a rocket into the top corner of the goal. Final score 15-1.

Tenby squad: Noah Davison, Morgan Brown, Finlay Drummond, Zak Fecci, Leo Glasgoe, Brandon Phillips, Robbie Ashton, Jordan James, Jay Thomas, Jack Clarke, Archie Treadaway-Williams and Aiden Thomas (team mascot).

UNDER 15s

St. Clears U15s 1 Tenby U15s 4: Tenby U15s (seen above right) went on their travels last Saturday, making the trip to St. Clears.

The away side started the stronger and put the home defence under constant pressure, but couldn’t convert this into goals. Although on the back foot for long periods, the Saints always looked dangerous on the break.

Midway through the first half, skipper Jacob Hipkiss chipped the ball through for attacker Carl Thomas to run on to. His pace proved too much and he was brought down inside the box for a penalty. The ever-reliable Rhys Morgan coolly slotted home from the spot, with Tenby taking this slender lead into the half-time break.

The Seasiders started the second period where they finished the first, testing the Saints’ defence. Dylan Evans was thwarted by the home ’keeper, who pulled off a string of outstanding saves.

Tenby soon doubled their lead when ’keeper Dylan Noot provided the assist from a goalkick that Carl Thomas finished off confidently.

However, a mix-up in defence for the visitors allowed St. Clears to pull a goal back almost immediately.

As the game wore on, Tenby made some changes, bringing on Jamie Bartlett, Darren Gibson and Billy Riley.

It was Bartlett who took his chance perfectly, scoring two quick goals. His second was straight out of the top drawer.

Good build-up play fed the ball to Harri Phillips, who beat his marker down the right, before sending a ball in for Bartlett to finish with the most spectacular bicycle kick seen all season!

Tomorrow, Tenby welcome Pennar Robins to The Clicketts, and will hope to continue their fine start to the season.
