Saundersfoot Bowling Club have given thanks to the organisers of the village’s recent live music event, afterreceiving an amazing £2,000 donation from proceeds raised.
As part of the £25,000 raised at SaundersFEST, held in July, several charities and local organisations have benefited from the hard work put in by organiser Cllr Chris Williams (county councillor for the village’s south ward) and his team of volunteers.
The Bowls Club helped to support the event and were only too pleased to make the premises available as changing rooms for the music acts and are pleased to announce that the money will be used to purchase a new stairlift.
In addition, the Saundersfoot Swim committee recently made a donation of £250 to the Club which will help pay for the benches and surrounds to be painted.
The officers and members are extremely grateful for this support with the community coming together to support the village and help maintain amenities.
Cllr Williams recently highlighted the need to support Saundersfoot Bowling Club and has been working with Local Authorities to overcome parking issues experienced by those playing for and visiting the Club, arranging for permission for part of the Community Council’s land to facilitate spaces for bowlers to park temporarily on the grassed area behind the bowling green on training and match days.
“This a huge step forward,” said Cllr Williams.
