The combined Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion under 25 mixed bowls team reached the final of the Super 10s competition for the second consecutive year last Sunday at the Welsh national championships in Llandrindod Wells.
The format of singles, pairs, triples and rinks has proved a popular one and is ideal for the development of younger players who gain valuable quality tournament experience.
Jointly managed by Saundersfoot’s Paul Blayney and Lampeter’s Anita Williams and having lost narrowly to Monmouthshire last time, hopes were high of a better result but up against a strong South Glamorgan team, they were again defeated.
Both Paul and Anita afterwards praised the team for their performance and the way they had conducted themselves, bringing honour to both counties with everyone looking forward to making it third time lucky next year.
