In a twist that must have been written in the stars, pinpoint accuracy from Joe Criddle powered his team to victory in the ‘James Criddle Cup’, held on Sunday at Tenby Bowling Club, to mark the memory of his late brother who died tragically in Bali last year.

With teammates Liam Price and Paul Diment, Joe shook off the dogged challenge of opponents Ysie White, Simon Evans and David Kingdon in fading light in a tight final before an enthusiastic crowd to receive the trophy from proud parents Rachael and Paul.

Earlier in the day, the Criddles had unveiled a bench commemorating James and his time spent playing bowls for Tenby, and it was the first stop for the family and team members with the trophy at the end of the match.

The James Criddle Foundation and Tenby BC would like to thank Ashley Hooper, David Kingdon, Merry Brothers and A.C.E. Engineering for their generous sponsorship of the tournament, which attracted sixty bowlers.

Rachael Thomas and Paul Criddle are pictured on the bench donated by the family to Tenby Bowling Club in memory of their late son James, with Joe holding the Criddle Cup which he won with teammates Liam Price and Paul Diment.
