Skills Futures, funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is a programme designed to provide more opportunities for people across the county by offering free vocational training and courses. Aimed at those who want to change career or acquire new skills, Skills Futures opens doors to a wide range of industries through its many courses.

Skills Futures provides training and resources for people in Pembrokeshire who are over 16 years old and either not working or working and on a low income. The programme not only fosters personal growth and development but also contributes to the economic advancement of communities, paving the way for a brighter future for all involved.

The programme boasts a diverse array of courses catering to a broad spectrum of industries and sectors. Whether you are interested in the health and social care sector, engineering, agriculture, construction, retail, hospitality, administration or even if you’re unsure about which career path is for you, there is a course to suit every ambition and passion.

Through its Multiply provision, Skills Futures goes the extra mile by offering numeracy courses aimed at enhancing individuals’ mathematical proficiency. These courses, such as Maths & Crafts, Wise Wallet Workshop, and Homework Heroes, use practical methods to improve peoples' numeracy skills, equipping them with valuable tools for success.

Skills Futures is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which launched in April 2022. The Fund is intended to help communities across the country, support people living or working in the UK, citizens with permission to work here, and help businesses operating in the UK.

It is about levelling up opportunity and prosperity and overcoming geographical inequalities. It is also about levelling up people’s pride in the places they love and seeing that reflected in empowered local leaders and communities, a stronger social fabric and better life chances.

Skills Futures is delivered by Futureworks, part of Pembrokeshire County Council’s Economic Development and Regeneration Service. They have over 30 years of experience helping the community get back into work.

Futureworks has centres in Pembroke Dock, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven and Cardigan, as well as outreach spaces in Fishguard and Neyland.

Mae’r rhaglen nid yn unig yn meithrin twf a datblygiad personol ond hefyd yn cyfrannu at ddatblygiad economaidd cymunedau, gan baratoi'r ffordd ar gyfer dyfodol mwy disglair i bawb dan sylw.

Mae’r rhaglen yn ymfalchïo mewn amrywiaeth eang o gyrsiau sy'n darparu ar gyfer sbectrwm eang o ddiwydiannau a sectorau. P’un a oes gennych ddiddordeb yn y sector iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol, peirianneg, amaethyddiaeth, adeiladu, manwerthu, lletygarwch, gweinyddu neu hyd yn oed os ydych yn ansicr ynghylch pa lwybr gyrfa sydd ar eich cyfer chi, mae cwrs ar gael sy'n addas ar gyfer pob uchelgais a brwdfrydedd.

Trwy ei ddarpariaeth Lluosi, mae Dyfodol Sgiliau yn mynd yr ail filltir drwy gynnig cyrsiau rhifedd sydd wedi'u hanelu at wella hyfedredd mathemategol unigolion. Mae’r cyrsiau hyn, fel Mathemateg a Chrefftau, Gweithdy Waled Ddoeth, ac Arwyr Gwaith Cartref, yn defnyddio dulliau ymarferol i wella sgiliau rhifedd pobl, gan eu harfogi ag offer gwerthfawr ar gyfer llwyddiant.

Ariennir Dyfodol Sgiliau gan Lywodraeth y DU drwy Gronfa Ffyniant Gyffredin y DU a lansiwyd ym mis Ebrill 2022. Bwriad y Gronfa yw helpu cymunedau ledled y wlad, cefnogi pobl sy’n byw neu’n gweithio yn y DU, dinasyddion sydd â chaniatâd i weithio yma, a helpu busnesau sy’n gweithredu yn y DU.

Mae'n ymwneud â sicrhau chwarae teg o ran cyfleoedd a ffyniant a goresgyn anghydraddoldebau daearyddol. Mae hefyd yn ymwneud â hybu balchder pobl yn y lleoedd y maent yn eu caru a gweld hynny'n cael ei adlewyrchu mewn arweinwyr a chymunedau lleol sydd wedi'u grymuso, gwead cymdeithasol cryfach a gwell cyfleoedd bywyd.

Darperir Dyfodol Sgiliau gan Gwaith yn yr Arfaeth, rhan o Wasanaeth Datblygu Economaidd ac Adfywio Cyngor Sir Penfro. Mae ganddyn nhw dros 30 mlynedd o brofiad yn helpu'r gymuned i ddychwelyd i'r gwaith.
