“Three steaks Pam!” - might have been the order - as Kilgetty’s award-winning restaurant Rib & Oyster welcomed a couple of well known Welsh faces to the establishment - Gavin and Stacey’s Joanna Page and Celebrity MasterChef winner Wynne Evans!
It was somewhat a missed photo opportunity though, as Gavin who runs the restaurant with his wife Lucy, could have paired up with Stacey for a pic...but the presenting couple who are filming a new programme for the BBC called ‘Lost at Sea’ were happy to pose with the establishment’s staff member Sarah-Jane when they ate at the premises this month.
The Kilgetty restaurant which picked up ‘Best Seafood Establishment’ at the Welsh Food Awards last year, is no stranger to celebrities popping in to taste the cuisine, with top chef Marco Pierre White a regular visitor to the premises located on Carmarthen Road.
Rib & Oyster posted on Facebook: ‘Oh, what's occurring!’ - It was lovely seeing Wynne Evans again today, and an extra nice treat to say hello to the wonderful Joanna Page, or better known as Stacey off Gavin & Stacey!
“We can't wait to see the finale at Christmas.”
One of the stars and writers of the beloved BBC sitcom, James Corden revealed this month that he and Ruth Jones have finished writing the script for its final episode - with Gaving & Stacey set to return for one last time on Christmas Day, five years after the previous festive special was screened.
Wynne and Joanna’s new show will see the duo embark on a fun-filled adventure along the Welsh coastline fuelled by their shared passions of the sea, food, and music.
Each episode will see the presenters on their motor yacht, charting a course to new destinations that range from fishing villages to vibrant coastal towns and secluded hamlets.
Foodies at heart, Wynne and Joanna will also look to indulge their culinary cravings as they uncover remarkable and unusual dining spots at each destination.
Aboard their boat Wynne, 2023’s Celebrity MasterChef winner, will whip up delicious meals with Joanna lending a hand.
Their new show will be broadcast on BBC Cymru Wales and iPlayer over the coming months.
Singer and broadcaster Wynne best known for being the ‘Go Compare’ advert man is also president of Tenby Male Choir.
He joined members at a celebratory Gala Concert at St Mary’s Church in Tenby last September, as the Choir closed a successful summer season.
