Vincent Davies Department Store recently presented their ‘Charity Of The Year 2024’ - the Catrin Vaughan Foundation, with a huge cheque for £19,002.32 - thanks to various fundraising events, and of course the festive Charity Singing Penguin Trio!
The Catrin Vaughan Foundation has been set up in Catrin’s memory, to help children with additional learning needs within Pembrokeshire with the provision of facilities and equipment not normally provided by the local education authority.
These children just need that little bit extra to achieve some of the things that other children can do. Catrin, a previous employee of Vincent Davies, was passionate about helping them find their strengths and skill, which is what the Foundation hope they can continue to do.
The Foundation has said that the money raised will go towards iPads, Sensory and Mobility Equipment for schools in Pembrokeshire.
The Charity was voted for by the whole team at Vincent Davies where fundraising included - an Easter Bingo, an Autumn Charity Ball, Collection Boxes, a Bake Sale, Wreath Making Class, as well as our Charity Jam Jars, Staff Sales, Christmas Jumper Days and more.
Most importantly, a mention for the store’s charity Singing Penguin Trio, who alone raised an amazing £3,889!
Sarah John, joint MD at Vincent Davies Department Store said: “I am over-whelmed by the magnificent amount raised this year and wish to personally thank every single person who has contributed. The Catrin Vaughan Foundation holds a special place in the hearts of all of us that remember Catrin and we are honoured to support Catrin’s legacy.
“I’d like to wish Gwenda, Rob, Bethan and the rest the Foundation all the very best with the future of the much-valued charity.”
Vincent Davies Department Store is pleased to announce that they will proudly be supporting Wales Air Ambulance for 2025.
