Councillors in Tenby have shown their support to the town’s De Valence venue who are hoping to gain grant funding for a ‘state-of-the-art’ sound and lighting system.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk Andrew Davies told members that he’d received correspondence from De Valence Trust member David Jones who said that the venue located on Upper Frog Street was in the process of applying for a grant from the Enhancing Pembrokeshire scheme set up from second home funds.

“If successful with our application we will be looking at upgrading the sound and lighting system to a state-of-the-art bespoke set up that will be energy efficient and reduce noise levels to the surrounding building area,” he explained.

Clr. Laurence Blackhall proposed that the town council write a letter of support for the De valence Trust towards their grant application.

“Additional works like this can only be a further enhancement for the venue,” he stated.
