Twenty-five-year-old local rugby player Patrick Roberts has become something of a TV celebrity this week after appearing on a hit ITV dating show.

Beach boy Patrick was on the crest of a wave as he ended up with a date following Saturday night’s Take Me Out.

Presented by Paddy McGuiness, cuddle-loving Patrick who wooed the ladies in his tight jeans and set hearts a flutter with his questions chose Lacey as his date to take to the Isle of Fernando’s.

Although not his ‘love at first light,’ Patrick was won over by Lacey who he said was ‘something outside the box.’

“I signed up to the show as a bit of a laugh,” Patrick told the Observer.

“It was a bit of fun and something you would only do once in a lifetime.”

But will romance blossom between Patrick and Lacey? Tune into the show tomorrow (Saturday) at 8.30 pm to find out.
