Outline permission has been granted for plans to extend a nursing home on the outskirts of Tenby.
Plans to carry out an extension to existing healthcare facilities at Park House Court on Narberth Road, were first submitted to Pembrokeshire County Council back in 2010.
The application, however, was called in for a decision by the Welsh Minister for environment and sustainable development, as the scheme raised planning issues which may have been in conflict with national planning policies in respect of development in the countryside.
The application would provide 132 mixed tenure serviced care units and associated communal facilities, which would form a cohesive healthcare campus.
The scheme would feature six accommodation blocks, with a wellness centre and administration block, an indoor pool, with a hydrotherapy/spa suite, a fitness suite, and refreshment and restaurant facilities.
The Welsh Minister's planning inspector recommended that outline planning permission be granted for the application, subject to conditions set out in his report.
