A stalwart of ceremonies and events in Tenby - John Morgan has announced that he is standing down from his Sergeant at Arms role after 25 years.

At the recent Christmas lights switch-on event for Tenby, Mr. Morgan, gave notice that, having completed over 25 years, his attendance in the role at the Boxing Day Swim would be his last.

At the recent meeting of Tenby Town Council, Cllr Sam Skyrme-Blackhall told her fellow councillors that Mr. Morgan was ‘irreplaceable’.

“These will be big boots to fill, after all his years of service. He will be missed,” she said.

Mayor, Cllr Dai Morgan said that he was already working on ways to recognise Mr. Morgan’s ‘exemplary service’ and he would give details in the New Year.

The Town Council will now be on the look out for someone new to fill the role.
