Tenby’s New Year’s Eve fireworks have been postponed until the following night - in light of the yellow weather warning for strong winds issued for West Wales - however, the party in the lead up to midnight in Tudor Square is still sure to be strong!
Tenby and Saundersfoot will be expecting a busy, bustling end to the year - as New Year’s Eve revellers head to the neighbouring seaside towns to welcome in 2025 with celebrations in the coastal resorts.
However, the Tenby House Hotel situated in the middle of the walled town in Tudor Square, which annually organises the fireworks display for locals and visitors alike, has shared an update on social media, stating: “It's with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the fireworks for this evening due to adverse weather conditions.
“It was to be our 25th anniversary fireworks tonight, and is the first except for during Covid that we have been forced to make this decision.
“We feel that the high winds and rain forecast will make it near impossible for us to let off the firework display effectively and safely.
“We will still have the countdown to midnight, and the confetti cannons in the Square to welcome in the New Year, and we still hope to see everyone there.
“As we do not want to disappoint the community we are going to let off the fireworks at 10pm on New Year's Day.
“We are sorry we have had to make this decision. From all of us at Tenby House - we wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.
“For those with tickets we are all set for a great night inside Tenby House tonight, looking forward to seeing you later.”
New Year 2025 will now be a two-day event at Tenby House, with The Connections playing live from 7pm at the venue, with the fireworks at 10pm.
Tickets for Tenby House Hotel’s 25th New Year's Eve party are already sold out.
The coastal town of Tenby has become a popular place to celebrate the end of another year, with people from far and wide joining locals in the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Pembrokeshire, knowing that the town centre, and its many pubs, bars and restaurants will be in party mode, leading up to midnight.
