The unseasonably wet and windy wintry weather failed to put a dampner on Tenby’s Christmas spirit on Saturday as the town held the second of its fun-filled festive Saturdays in the build up to the big day.
Organised by Tenby Christmas Festivities committee, the day kicked off with popular local DJ Steve Briers on hand in Tudor Square spinning some festive favourites, before being joined by Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Paul Rapi, and his Mace Bearers, the Salvation Army band, the Friendship Club carollers and Peppa Pig, George, Bob the Builder and Minion Bob.
The Yuletide merriment concluded with a surprise visit from Father Christmas, courtesy of Tenby Carriage Rides.
The Festivities committee would like to thank - Steve Briers, Tenby Lions, Tenby Chamber of Trade and Tourism, the Salvation Army band, and the Friendship Group carollers, Oakwood Theme Park, LG Leisure and Super Star Mascots for all their support.
They would particularly like to thank Tesco Express and Shoe Zone for coming to the rescue after the weather again proved too windy to erect the DJ’s gazebo shelter.
Father Christmas will be roaring into town again tomorrow (Saturday) courtesy of The Three Amigos, while DJ Steve returns to the Square, this time to be joined by the newly-formed Tenby Community Wind Band and Frozen favourites Anna, Elsa, Sven and Hans.
The festive fun does not stop at Christmas either, with the annual Boxing Day swim on December 26; a combined Renaissance/Tenby Rugby Club New Year’s Eve Party at the De Valence on December 31; and the pantomime Robin Hood in the De Valence on January 2.
