Good luck to three Tenby scooter enthusiasts who are set to embark on a fundraising trip to Spain, to raise money and awareness of Parkinson’s disease.
Jose Sarrionandia, who runs the Strathmore Hotel on Victoria Street will be joined by pals Yobbler Thomas and Andy Williams in taking on a scooter run on their Vespas from the seaside town to San Sebastian.
Joes was diagnosed himself with Parkinson’s last year, and hopes that the journey will give fellow sufferers some hope, as well as raising money for the charity.
“When I was diagnosed in June of 2021 I believed my days of riding my motorcycles were numbered and searched the internet for any help or advice,” said Jose.
“Finding there was very little out there I wanted to make sure there was some hope for fellow two-wheeled sufferers when they are diagnosed.
“I have good and bad days and make the most of every day as it comes. Some things in life need to change a little but you can still have fun!”
Starting off from Tenby (in a van as it can get very cold coming back on a scooter!) the trio will make their way down to Plymouth, cross the bay of Biscay on the overnight ferry arriving in Santander, then taking a couple of days they will make their way to San Sebastian (to be joined by their other halves for a couple of days) before making their way back along the coast to Santander and home.
“This is a self funded trip and all money raised will be going to Parkinsons UK,” continued Jose.
“I appreciate every penny raised as it will work towards finding a cure and helping fellow sufferers.”
