Tenby could be calling for a new town crier soon, after the most recent one resigned from his role.
Proposals by Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas, whose late husband John Thomas served as Tenby’s town crier for more than 30 years, looking for someone to take over the role last year heralded a good response, with Teifion Powell eventually filling the position.
However, members of the town council were informed at their meeting on Tuesday that Mr. Powell would no longer be able to continue in the role, due to the fact that he was relocating to Cardiff.
The Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall, said that he would like to thank Teifion for his time in the town crier role, and that he would propose a way forward to fill the position at a future meeting.
