Members of Tenby Town Council have backed plans for improved wheelchair access at the town’s train station.
The planning application from Network Rail (reference: NP/25/0075/LBA) for the installation of a disability-friendly ‘Access for All’ footbridge and associated works at Tenby Railway Station on Warren Street, was recently discussed by town councillors at their March meeting.
Access between the platforms is currently via a barrow crossing, which does not offer a suitable step free access.

Councillors recommended approval for the proposal, stating that it will improve facilities for, and the safety of, rail users.
Their views will be passed onto the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, whose development management committee will consider the application at a later date.
