Former Tenby and Greenhill School student Colin James (who now resides in Kamloops, Canada) came “home” recently and recalled the time he and fellow pupils took part in a baton exchange to mark the opening of the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games which were held in Cardiff.
“Gareth Corps, Myself, Douglas Owen and Geoffrey Carew each did a mile and stopped for this photograph near Princes Gate. We were selected to take part through the school,” explained Colin.
He has also shared with us photographs from the same year when he and fellow Air Training Corps cadets took part in the Duke of Edinburgh award.
