A global news agency has chosen a ‘jaw-dropping gallery’ of their pictures of the year - featuring one of Tenby RNLI's all-weather lifeboat launching.

This photo of the Haydn Miller setting off from the lifeboat station located on the north side of Castle Hill was captured by photographer Adam Jones during a training run back in March.

SWNS has been providing news to the world since the early 1970s, operating around-the-clock, 365 days per year, and are asking the public to choose their favourite of 2022.

Every year the SWNS newswire supplies websites, newspapers and magazines around the globe with some of the most fascinating, captivating and powerful photographs you could ever hope to see.

From the many thousands of frames snapped through 2022, the organisation's dedicated picture editors have chosen a hundred of the most compelling images they've run on their service.

Photography lovers can now vote to decide which of these images will be crowned ‘SWNS Picture of the Year 2022’.

SWNS picture editor Jon Mills said: “We are very grateful to all the talented photographers who trust us with their pictures.

“A great news photograph can be many things, but its core quality is that it tells you a story that lives in your memory.

“Many of the pictures in our gallery are stunning images of this beautiful world, some show moments of intense emotion and others touch on the tragedy that is a very real part of our modern society.”
