A Tenby kite surfer has notched up a win at an event in a national competition.
Gareth Morgan, of Upper Hill Park, recently came first in the amateur wave riding section of this year's British Kitesurfing Association Wavemaster Series.
Gareth, who works at Murco oil refinery in Milford Haven, came up trumps following three heats at Westward Ho in North Devon, Newgale and Gwithian in Cornwall.
A former champion skiff sailor, Gareth took up kite surfing in 2003 after he moved to the area from Swansea. He receives riding sponsorship from his employer and equipment sponsorship from Mike and Jan Prout at the Surf Centre in Penally.
Gareth admitted that he was surprised to take top spot after going into the final heat at Gwthian in third place, but said that the terrible summer weather that the county has experienced helped him enormously with his preparation.
