Sustrans Heroes is one of the outstanding projects granted the London 2012 Inspire mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme, which recognises exceptional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Olympic Games.

Sustrans Heroes will run at Tenby Junior School in the lead-up to the big event and will give pupils an opportunity to see how the Olympic and Paralympic values relate to their daily life whilst promoting the positive health, environmental and economical benefits of cycling.

Each child who takes part has received a booklet with 21 cycling-related tasks to complete. They can achieve bronze, silver or gold depending on how many of the challenges they tick off. Some of these tasks will need to be completed out of school and all will need to be signed off by an adult or a JRSO officer who have been trained in the Heroes project.

Last Friday, the pupils of Tenby Junior School cycled to school as their hero to promote the project. The JRSOs led the assembly and promoted the booklet, as well as announcing the winners of the fancy dress. They look forward to presenting the pupils with their bronze, silver and gold in the future.
