Tenby Swifts U10s

Peter Kidney's Under 10s Tenby Swifts side made the long journey to Aberaeron last Sunday to hopefully avenge the defeat last time the two teams met in the Pembrokeshire final, when Aberaeron won four tries to three.

The game was played in wet conditions, with both teams finding it hard to keep hold of the ball.

Man of the match and captain William Swales led by example and opened up the scoring with the first try.

The forwards of Gus P. Dick and Dominic Booth both had great runs, which Dom converted after a good burst.

Ben Millward was again the top tackler and was hitting the rucks at great pace, while Billy Kinnaer also performed well at the breakdown and was rewarded with a great try.

This wasn't a day for the fancy backs as the weather wasn't great and the ball the forwards recycled was often too slow, which gave time for  the opposition to reorganise their defence.

Iori Hicks's work rate was high as he covered a lot of ground.

Harri Williams ended up with two well-taken tries and he also linked well for Thomas Harding Jones and Max Brindley to show their pace and crash over.

Fellow backs Harvey Johns and Harrison worked well and both came close to scoring.

Lewis Sarrionandia, who has impressed with his direct running and his commitment at the tackle, proved a handful during the game.

Millward finished off the scoring after good work at the lineout.

Next week the boys will have a Sunday off as they have played the last seven Sundays on the trot, while the 'B' team, under the watchful eye of Damien Kelly, Richard James and John Sparey, are playing away at Pembroke.
