TENBY U14s 6 HUNDLETON U14s 0

The Willow Carpentry sponsored Tenby Under 14s won their ninth game of the season to keep the pressure on league leaders, Camrose. Tenby raced into a two-nil lead within the first 10 minutes thanks to a double strike from Will Thomas. The first, a header, came from a Jordan Richards corner, while the second, a close range shot, came courtesy of a cross from captain, Ashley Smith. However, that was that until 10 minutes from half- time when Thomas popped up to tap in a Phil Horsley cross, to claim yet another hat-trick. The second half was much as the first, with Tenby just doing enough to stay in front without getting out of second gear. Thomas got his fourth after Richards had put him clear and Alex Heesom was unlucky not to get his name on the score sheet, but the woodwork cameto visitors' rescue. Richards then scored a brilliant goal. Smith fed him the ball on the edge of the box, Richards side- stepped his defender and unleashed a shot that flew into the top right-hand corner of the goal. Greg Lees-Griffiths saw two headers go just over the bar and Johnnie Delahunty almost scored after coming on for the injured Horsley. Gareth Warlow, who outpaced the Hundleton defence, rounded the 'keeper and slotted the ball into an open net for the final goal. The Tenby defence kept another clean sheet, giving them the joint best 'goals against' out of all the junior leagues. Tenby side: J. Roberts, A. Roberts, G. Lees-Griffiths, P. Elliott, D. Edwards, A. Heesom, P. Horsley, J. Richards, A. Smith, W. Thomas, G. Warlow, C. Millward, J. Delahunty.

TENBY U12s 17 HAVERFORDWEST COUNTY U12s 1 The Manorbier Stores and Post Office side welcomed Haverfordwest County to the Clicketts on a blustery morning. With Corey sidelined through injury, George took up the right-back position again and proved what a versatile player he is becoming. The boys rallied from the kick-off and it was only a matter of time before Rhys, starting what was to be a great half on the left wing, found Dan who opened the scoring. Then followed a procession of goals, brought about by some skilful play from all players and total domination of the game. Scott was a safe pair of hands at the back; George, Sam, Jack and Tom were rock-solid in defence; Toby had yet another outstanding half and Hugo, in an unaccustomed central midfield role, tackled well; Cheyne and Rhys flew down the wings and Dan and Elliot up front found goals aplenty. So 10-0 up at the half-time whistle. A few changes made to the formation at half-time saw D'Arcy arrive to show her nifty footwork on the left. It all went a bit pear-shaped for Tenby then as players changed positions and everyone had a crack at getting their name on the score sheet. Not quite the exciting and entertaining football of the first half, but nonetheless the team added to their score and ran out easy winners. OK, now to that goal tally. Any mistakes blame everyone on the touchline as they all had their say! Elliot top scorer with an amazing six, Dan got three, Cheyne and Toby had two each, with Rhys scoring his very first goal (well done) and Hugo, Sam and Jack joining him with one apiece. A superb first half performance - you should be proud of your teamwork. Thanks to Haverfordwest who were good-tempered opponents and tried hard to the final whistle. Some new quotes from Simon which brightened up the second half for the spectators... 'wind, watch the wind' closely followed by 'hells bells boys'. Thanks to Simon, as always, for his contribution and entertainment, referee Colin, our sponsors and supporters. Squad: Scott Cowan, George McBeth, Tom Grover, Jack Murphy, Sam Butler, Cheyne Lloyd, Toby Rossiter, Hugo Wellum, Rhys Nicholas, Elliot Goldsmith, Daniel Fairlie, D'Arcy Escott.

TENBY U10s B 0 PENNAR ROBINS U10s A 1

Tenby made one change to their starting line-up as they played hosts to Pennar Robbins A on a somewhat cold and windy Saturday morning at The Clicketts ground. Joseph Criddle joined the defence, while Tenby retained an otherwise unchanged format. Most of the early chances were developed from dominating midfield play. Pennar's organised midfield provided an early test for Tenby, but the home team's defence was more than equal to the challenge. Daniel Tiesing put in a key defensive tackle and Will Davies was again ever dependable and collected well from an early long range Pennar drive. Luke Hartland attacked the right handside well and was rewarded by winning throw deep in the Pennar half. A good long throw by Dylan Price picked out Sam Perrett who found Liam Bowen in space and provided him with an early opportunity - forcing a good save from the Pennar 'keeper. Pennar's defence worked the ball up to the midfield which saw a great individual effort volleyed high towards the Tenby goal. Will Davies reacted well with a superb one hand acrobatic save pushing the ball out for a corner. Pennar played the corner in deep, but Henrik Jaakola moved fast to intercept with a great defensive header onto Ryan Kent who calmly passed the ball up field to Liam Bowen to retain possession and to keep the score 0-0 at half-time. Tenby started the second half well with good early pressure from Sean Conbeer attacking the left handside with pace. Henrik Jaakola moved up into midfield and linked up well with Luke Hartland. After some teasing play by the winger, he delivered a pin-point cross, picking out Joseph Criddle who displayed great acrobatics with a superb overhead kick which just went wide past the Pennar goal. From the goal kick, Sam Perrot retained possession, picking out Sean Conbeer in space who was so unlucky when his long range drive just passed the Pennar post. Pennar pushed forward, weaving through the Tenby defence - finding themselves in-front of goal with only the Tenby 'keeper, Will Davies to beat. An outstanding reaction save from close range denied the visitors who seemed almost certain to score. The 'keeper recovered well and was on his feet instantly to put in a second, equally spectacular save from close range to deny the visitors yet again. Well done!. Tenby pushed forward with determination. Luke Hartland was instrumental in attack, delivering a great cross onto Dylan Price who was unlucky to see his shot collected by the keeper. Pennar broke forward through the midfield but were met by a powerful surging run out of defence by Daniel Tiesing who made a great interception to halt the attack and calmly pass onto Ryan Kent who cleared well. Tenby worked the ball forward but were unlucky to loose possession, allowing Pennar to break and deliver a cross into the Tenby area. Picking up on the loose ball, Pennar fired a shot towards goal which was helped on by an unlucky deflection to give them a slim 1-0 lead. With minutes remaining Tenby pressed forward looking for the equaliser, but were unlucky to come away from the game without a point as the final whistle went with the score ending even at 1-0 to the visitors. Many thanks to Park Road Fish and Chips, the Tenby Under 10s kit sponsors, and to all the parents for their positive support and encouragement.
