TENBY U12s 5 JOHNSTON U12s 1
The Tenby Cycle and Skateboard sponsored Tenby Under 12s added three more points to their season's tally with a comfortable win over Johnston. The Seasiders played some excellent passing football, scoring five goals in the process. However, little lapses in concentration could have brought the scores closer. Tenby exerted pressure from the start, with Phil Horsley and Jordan Richards commanding the midfield. They sweep the ball wide at every opportunity to wings, Ashley Smith and Oliver Worley, and it was Smith who provided the cross for Josh Koop to volley home at the far post, for the opening goal. Soon after, Gareth Warlow used his blistering pace to great effect and hit a good shot which produced an equally good save from Sinton in the Johnston goal. The home team then increased their lead following a corner from Patrick Elliott which Richards smashed in at the near post. At the other end, home defence gave good protection to goalie, Jake Roberts, especially the no nonsense tackling of Nicky Jones. The half ended with Smith shaving the cross-bar with a shot from the edge of the box, after good play from Horsley and Daniel Edwards. The visitors reshuffled their line-up for the second-half, pushing the tall Joel Codd forward and he gave the home defence plenty to think about. However, it was Tenby who took the initiative and Warlow's pace again enabled him to outstrip the Johnston defence. He gave the perfect pass to Koop, who coolly picked his spot wide of the visiting 'keeper. Loui Fecci and Curtis Hurlow gave a good account of themselves in the home defence, after replacing Jones and Elliott, while Iwan Osborne, who replaced Worley on the right, got straight into the action. He won the ball on the halfway line and passed it on to his captain, Greg Lees-Griffiths, who hit a lovely ball over the top to Richards. Richards raced on and as the ball fell over his right shoulder, he deftly volleyed it inside the far post. After all the hard work, Tenby let one of those little lapses of concentration creep in, enabling Scriven to grab a consolation goal. But it was Jordan Richards who had the final say when he scored the red and blacks' fifth and his 15th goal of the year. Tenby side: J. Roberts, N. Jones, G. Lees-Griffiths, P. Elliott, D. Edwards, A. Smith, P. Horsley, J. Richards, O. Worley, J. Koop, G. Warlow, C. Hurlow, L. Fecci, I. Osborne.

TENBY U14s 3 CAREW U14s 0
The Blooms of Tenby sponsored U14s entertained Carew at the Clicketts last Saturday, in what turned out to be a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable game. Tenby started very brightly in a calm and confident manner which we have not seen much of lately. Patrick Roberts had a stormer of a first-half, both winning and distributing the ball intelligently. Chris Heesom had his usual solid game at the back and both fullbacks, namely James Howes and Will Hughes, had long range efforts on goal. All the Tenby pressure eventually told when Rhys Winter, who was getting into the box at every opportunity, slammed home a shot with great assurance. This settled Tenby down and now with Toby Smith running things in midfield with the assistance of Keifer Thompson and Jordan Williams, chances were occurring at regular intervals for the two strikers, namely Daniel McDermott and Jamie Williams. However, it still remained 1-0 at half-time. The second-half started exactly like the first, with Tenby applying constant pressure on the Carew goal. Eventually the second came after strong tackling by Toby and a quick release of the ball into the path of Keifer, who duly finished the move with a cool finish. At this point, Alex Harley and Johnie Lammin came on for Jordan and Daniel. Carew, having now thrown more boys forward, were testing Richard Bridges in goal, but he stood up to the task well. After being awarded a free-kick in their own half, Tenby's defender James played an inch-perfect ball into the Carew penalty area for Jamie to finish with ease. Chris had a run full length of the pitch, only to see his shot turned round the post for a corner. Rhys now gave way to Luke Arthur who slotted into his position well. The game drew to an end, with Tenby winning 3-0, but all credit to Carew for making it an entertaining game. Mark Winter (manager) looked stunned while observing a very good team performance which was encouraging to see. The passing and movement was first class. Thanks to Garry for being referee, and good luck to the boys in the cup game next week. Squad was: Richard Bridges, James Howes, Chris Heesom, Patrick Roberts, Will Hughes, Jordan Williams, Keifer Thompson, Toby Smith (capt), Rhys Winter, Daniel McDermott, Jamie Williams, Alex Harley, Johnie Lammin and Luke Arthur.
Kilgetty U10s 0 Tenby U10s 6 After several weeks of cancellations, Tenby U10s emerged proudly in their new strip. They pretty much dominated the game from kick-off with some excellent midfield play, especially from D'Arcy who showed the boys how it should be done. Sound defending and some great goalkeeping denied Tenby a healthy half-time lead, the only first half goal being scored by Elliot after a pass from Daniel. The second half saw Kilgetty give the game more balance and they came close on several occasions. Again, their defence denied Tenby, as did the uprights, and it wasn't until midway through the second half that the Tenby goal machine really kicked into action. A corner from Tom, with Jack driving home after a goalmouth scramble, made it two; Elliot hit the post, David collecting the rebound to score the third; a floated corner from Hugo, jumped upon again by David, made it four; a superb header from Toby put Elliot through for the fifth and finally a deflection, followed by some characteristic fancy footwork from Jack, gave him his second and the team's sixth. Competition for places is strong, 110 per cent commitment is needed, so keep up the good work! Thanks to Simon and Neil as ever and thank you to kit sponsors, Manorbier Stores. Squad: Scott Cowan, Toby Rossiter, Corey Morris, Sam Butler, D'Arcy Escott, Jack Murphy, Hugo Wellum, Tom Koop, Daniel Fairlie, Elliot Goldsmith, David Webb, Cheyne Lloyd and George McBeth. TENBY U10s B 6 SAUNDERSFOOT U10s 0
The Gallery Bistro sponsored Under 10s B team played their first match on Saturday after being allowed to enter the league at this stage in the season. Their first opponents were Saundersfoot at home. The game started brightly, with the Tenby team having much of the early play. The boys were passing the ball around like a team much older than their early years and this culminated in a first goal for Lloyd Hughes. This was followed by some excellent goalmouth chances for Jerome Mansbridge and Ellis Morgan. Saundersfoot came back into the game and Elliott Wilson and Jacob Dent had to do some sharp defending, along with Ryan Hill in goal and the midfield of Richard Tebbutt, Lloyd Hughes, James Bridges and Robert Davies. It wasn't long before the team got themselves in front even further with a superb effort from Jerome, and the half ended with Tenby two goals up. The second half saw the team change quite a bit as substitutes Nathan Wilson and Brandon Taylor-Monaghan came on. Jerome soon put Tenby further ahead with his second goal, and the team could do nothing wrong at this stage, with both Ellis and Robert hitting the bar. Richard, keen not to be outdone, added Tenby's fourth. This was followed by a spell of pressure from the opposition and Ryan saved very well in a one-on-one situation. Tenby put an end to the game with further goals from Jerome, his third, and finally from James. Thanks go to Saundersfoot for a good game, to the Pembrokeshire League for allowing the team into the league, and to John Dyson for refereeing the game. Tenby fielded: Ryan Hill, Jacob Dent, Elliott Wilson, James Bridges, Richard Tebbutt, Lloyd Hughes, Robert Davies, Jerome Mansbridge, Ellis Morgan, Nathan Wilson and Brandon Taylor-Monaghan.
TENBY UNDER 8s 0 KILGETTY UNDER 8s 0 Tenby's unbeaten run in the Pembrokeshire Under Eights League was almost ended on Saturday morning, with only the woodwork and acrobatic goalkeeping denying Kilgetty victory at the Clicketts. With several regular players missing, Tenby introduced some new talent into the line-up and it took the team a while to gel against a strong Kilgetty side. From the kick-off, the home side were put under early pressure by the visitors, with the midfield trio of Tom Harries, James Brace and Tom Dyson, working hard to keep Kilgetty at bay. Tenby fought back on the break, with Scotty Ferney making a couple of excellent runs, but he couldn't find a way through a well-organised Kilgetty defence. The first half ended with corners for both sides, with resolute defending from Lois Horsley and Daniel Teising making sure that Tenby kept a clean sheet. In the second half, Kilgetty continued to push forward, and the Tenby 'keeper Jannik Coop did well to palm a rising shot over the bar. The near miss for Kilgetty spurred Tenby into action. Luke Hartland threaded the ball through to Scott Ferney who broke free and fired low and hard just outside the left post. Kilgetty immediately attacked again, and as Tenby struggled to keep the visitors out, they conceded a free-kick on the edge of the D. The kick was very well struck, but hit the outside of the post, denying the visitors the goal they deserved. Sensing victory, Kilgetty piled on the pressure and were unlucky to be denied a second time when another cracking shot bounced off the bar and over for a goal kick. Tenby never gave up the fight, and came close to pinching the game near the end. As the ball was played towards the Kilgetty goal, the 'keeper came out to collect it. Realising he was outside the area, he reacted quickly to clear with his feet. The ball fell to Tom Dyson wide on the right. He lofted a high shot across the empty goal and inches past the far post where it was knocked out for a corner. Kilgetty finished the stronger of the two sides, but a goal-line clearance by Owen Coombs just before the final whistle maintained Tenby's unbeaten record. Congratulations to Kilgetty for an excellent team performance, and also to Tenby for battling hard to the end of the game. Thanks to Park Road Fish and Chips, the Tenby Under Eight kit sponsors.
