England rugby fans were able to drown their sorrows early on Saturday morning as Tenby Beer Festival welcomed revellers to the event - the town’s biggest to date!

Hosted by Tenby Round Table the seventh annual charity beer festival began on Friday evening and opened at 8 am on Saturday to show the Rugby World Cup final where England went down 32-12 to South Africa.

The event held at the De Valence Pavilion stayed open until midnight on Saturday, making for an impressive 16-hour shift for the volunteers who ran it.

There were over 30 beers available along with eight types of Cider and a Prosseco Bar.

The public support for the event was incredible, with the hall packed on the Saturday night with people enjoying the live entertainment on offer.

On Friday, there were brilliant performances by bands and singers, including - Johnny Lawless, Suburban Soul and The Sun Dogs, while on Saturday, the hall hosted - Tris Lewis, James Hinchliffe, Mike Jones, Amanda Short, Johnny Lawless, The Limelight and The Collective

Tenby Round Table chairman, Ieuan Rowell, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have hosted our biggest and best beer festival to date.

“deThere are a lot of people to thank, but I would specifically like to say cheers to our wonderful barrel sponsors, the fantastic staff at the De Valence, The Qube group for our new pint glasses, the bands and singers who played for us, the volunteers from Tenby Netball and Valero, Tenby Round Table members who put in a huge shift to set up, run and pack up after the event and finally everyone that attended the event!

“Being open for 16 hours on the Saturday really took its toll on our volunteer members, but I thank them all for their work, blood, sweat and in some cases tears in making this event a success.

“We are looking forward to running the event again in 2020,” he added.
