Sir, We note from your report, May 27, that Airway 02 are planning to erect a temporary TETRA Mast on Caldey Island and that the company's long term plan is to erect a permanent structure on The Ridgeway, sharing a site with NTL. The site in question is within yards of The Wheelabout, our holiday house for families with disabled children, and the proposed mast will be over 60-feet high. The Trust has been 'consulted' by agents acting for Airway 02 and we have objected to its plans in the strongest possible terms. We have been told that our views would be 'taken into account', but that they would be proceeding with a planning application. Your report states that the company 'recognises that masts can be unsightly.' The one it proposes for The Ridgeway will dominate our house and garden and we fear that families with very vulnerable children will be deterred from using the property by its visual intrusion and the controversial nature of the system.
Kit and John Davis, For the Harriet Davis Trust, Crickhowell.
