A Pembroke man sadly died in hospital after being involved in a road traffic collision on the A477 on Saturday evening.
A Peugeot 306 car, driven by a man from Kilgetty, was in collision with 49-year-old Richard Allen Roberts, of Maidenwells, at Red Roses, at approximately 10 pm.
A keen sports fan, Mr. Roberts was travelling back with members of Pembroke RFC from a fixture at Penygroes when the accident occurred.
The party had stopped at the Sporting Chance and it was while Mr. Roberts was crossing the road back to the coach that he came into contact with the car.
He was conveyed to the West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen, but later died from his injuries.
The driver of the Peugeot received slight injuries and was treated at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.
The road was closed for five hours to enable the police collision investigator to carry out a detailed examination of the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Carmarthen police station on 01267 232000.
