Saundersfoot will receive a special Royal visit on Friday, to coincide with the second weekend of the World Rowing Coastal Championships being staged in the seaside village.
Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, will visit Saundersfoot on October 14, to attend the 2022 World Rowing Coastal Championships Beach Sprints, with the first part of the event starting this weekend.
The World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals will be raced from October 14 to 16, with the event debuting in 2019 and will, for the third edition, have just under 250 athletes from 26 nations doing the short course, beach start style race.
Beach Sprints are to feature at the 2023 World Beach Games in Bali, and the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal and have also been proposed as an Olympic event for 2028 to the International Olympic Committee, and at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
The Princess Royal will also open the Coastal Schooner Interpretation Centre at the Saundersfoot Harbour Events Deck.
Earlier in the day, Princess Anne will arrive in Pembrokeshire to open the new North Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Riding for the Disabled premises at Havard Stables in Dinas Cross.
Following that, the Princess Royal will officially open the new Haverfordwest High School.
