Once again, riders from the South Pembrokeshire Hunt branch of the Pony Club have enjoyed major success at the Wales and the Boarders (Area 18 and Area 10) tetrathlon at Pembrey.
Congratulations to Jack Goldsworthy Spuffard and Nicole Elsdon who also represented Wales and the Boarders at the Regional Championships at Milton Keynes.
Lorcan Williams competed in the mini boys competition at Pembrey. Coming second in the shoot, and with a good swim and run Lorcan in strong contention going into the ride. Unfortunately, Lorcan's tetrathlon pony Dezzy was injured on the morning of the competition and so he had took his less experienced pony Spirit who hasn't previously competed at this level. The pair went extremely well however having not practiced the gate they picked up some faults which is very rare for Lorcan , however despite this he finished in a very commendable fifth place overall and third in Area 18, whilst Lorcan's Area 18 team came second overall.
South Pembs. had a very strong presence in the Junior Competition with Nicole Elsdon competing in the girls event and Jack Goldsworthy Spuffard and Fred Meyrick in the boys. As a result, the South Pembrokeshire Hunt branch team came first overall. Well done on another excellent result.
Nicole had good results in all disciplines, however riding Silver she was the only competitor in the class to go clear in the cross country. Congratulations to Nicole who recorded her first win in the junior girls.
Competition was strong between Jack and Fred in the junior boys. Jack had the stronger shoot, whilst Fred had an extremely strong swim and run. Both boys went clear in the ride, for Fred to win the class and Jack come second just 68 points behind. An excellent result for South Pembs, well done boys!
Alice Simon was competing in the senior girls. She recorded a very good shoot, good swim and run and with a clear round in the ride she came second overall.
