A series of works around parts of Tenby - including the harbour, North Walk area and multi-storey car park - have been promised by Pembrokeshire County Council.
As well as a long awaited spruce-up of the seaside town’s Castle Hill soon to get underway, oher parts of Tenby are in line for a spot of TLC by the Local Authority, including:
• North Walk – a review of the drainage by the shower area at North Walk, and the tiles which are damaged. Sand which was holding water on the walkways was recently cleaned down.
• Harbour – a new gate is being manufactured for the beach slipway with a pedestrian split included, which will allow the gate to be closed, preventing vehicles driving onto the beach, but still allow pedestrian access onto the harbour beach.
Bollards on the Harbour car park which have been damaged over the years will be replaced, and installed following the boat lift at the end of March.
Red door arch – under review for full replacement.
A new planning application will also be put forward for the Pier Gate proposals, with an amended design [Both Tenby Town Council and Tenby Civic Society recommended refusal for recent plans put forward to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, looking to introduce a fixed sliding gate - stating that such a structure woud be out of keeping with the Grade II listed harbour].

• North and South Beach – internal and external painting for both public toilets.
The wooden retaining wall at South Beach will be painted with clear sealer for weather proofing.
Dog restrictions signs around the area are also being reviewed to ensure full awareness of the beach restriction from May to the end of September.
• Tenby Multi car park– relining internal road markings; and refreshing internal paint work. Internal painting will also take place at the public toilets nearby.
