A Saundersfoot county councillor is looking for solutions to stop a popular public footpath down to one of the seaside village’s beaches being blocked by vehicles.
“During the last few years, especially at low tides and lovely beach weather, there has been cars and vans parking on the footpath down to the Glen Beach,” said Cllr Chris Williams who represents Saundersfoot’s south ward.
“This has caused much inconvenience, especially when two vehicles are parked up to avoid the traffic warden. Unfortunately, from these actions, access is restricted as they are partially blocking the footpath.”
Cllr Williams has now written to Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water who monitor a unit on the side of this path to see if a solution can be sought to assist with the matter.
“I have asked if they can install a removable bollard to be used under their discretion. They have now agreed to meet me onsite to potentially look at where this can be placed,” continued Cllr Williams.
“This will be welcome news to the residents of the Glen and the many local residents who use this path regularly. Hopefully I will have some positive news for my next report.”
