A Tenby-born artist whose work was pinned to Taylor Swift's cleaning cart which transported her on stage during her record-breaking Eras Tour says it's been ‘a bit crazy’ since the recognition from the multi-Grammy award-winning American singer/songwriter.

Forty-year-old Rachel Rasmussen who hails from Tenby and now resides in Cardiff, told BBC she thinks the US star or her team must have purchased the print when the singer performed at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium back in June as part of the Eras Tour.

In a post on social media celebrating the end of her world tour Taylor Swift is pictured in the cart with the print - showing Cardiff Bay - pinned to the wall beside her.

“Any souvenir that she could have taken from Wales and she took a piece of my artwork. That's good enough for me!” said Rachel who also sells her artwork in her hometown of Tenby at The Nook.

Rachel who started working as a professional artist 10 years ago, says her inspiration started at school in Tenby, where she attended St Teilos and Ysgol Greenhill.

She staged her first ever solo exhibition in her hometown at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery earlier this year, titled ‘Tenby Treasures, Nostalgic Brushstrokes’

She became a self-taught artist at an early age. Drawing from the beauty on her doorstep, Rachel loves to paint the South Wales coastline.

She says her work is a reflection of what she loves most about nature. Painting seascapes and landscapes, capturing dramatic skies, evocative reflections with attention to detail.

Rachel said she had no idea the singer had a copy of the print painted in 2017, which depicts Cardiff Bay at night, until the image popped up on the star's Instagram account.

“It's been a bit crazy. It's nice, a Welsh artist getting a bit of recognition,” the mother-of-four added.
