Pembroke Dock’s Sian Phillips will be proudly representing Pembrokeshire at the Mrs Galaxy Pageant UK grand final next spring.

“It’s good to do different activities that you wouldn’t usually take part in,” says Sian who has been named Mrs Galaxy Pembrokeshire after developing an interest in beauty pageants last year.

She got talking to Miss Voluptuous 2024 while doing some filming with S4C, and it started her on a road of discovery that led to Galaxy Pageants UK.

Sian, 41, went online to send photos and details to Galaxy Pageants; within days she was being congratulated on qualifying as a UK Mrs Galaxy finalist.

Now she wants to help create a positive Pembrokeshire.

“I’m hoping that by being Mrs Galaxy Pembrokeshire, I can help to make positive changes to people of Pembrokeshire and different charities along my journey to the grand final,” she told the Observer.

“I believe everyone should be able to be themselves and I want to spread a positive attitude to people, showing them that anything is possible.”

Sian, who works at Castlemartin, lost her brother unexpectedly in February. The experience made her realise the brevity of life and the importance of seizing every opportunity. And although she would not have described herself as a “girlie girl that gets her hair and nails done”, she relishes the opportunity to rise to a challenge outside her comfort zone.

Sian will be attending local events and fundraising for various charities in the run up to the finals. Follow her activities on Facebook and Instagram.

“My main interests are Mental Health and Animal charities but I’ll always help where I can.

“I’m currently taking part in a challenge for Mental Health UK. We have so much beauty in our county but so many mental health issues that people don’t see it.

“We need to get back to nature, free ourselves from everyday worries, ditch the technology, and just be in the moment.”

Any local hair, beauty or nail salons who are able to help Sian will get publicity locally and at the event. Email [email protected] for details.

Galaxy Pageants holds five pageants throughout the year: Junior (ages 12-14), Miss Teen (15-18), Miss, Ms and Mrs Galaxy UK. The grand final takes place on March 30, 2025 in Lancashire. The five winners crowned will then go on to represent the UK at the international finals in the USA next summer.
