A parking permit scheme has begun operating in the Greenhill Avenue car park outside Tenby Library with the aim of reducing congestion.

The car park also services the Avenue Social Activity Centre, the Youth Centre and the Community Learning Centre but is being used by motorists not visiting those premises or the library. This is not the intention.

The permit scheme has been introduced to prevent the facility being used as a free car park for all.

Users can park without a permit in one of the seven short-stay bays for 30 minutes. Disabled motorists can park in one of the two disabled-designated short-stay-bays for an hour.

However, anyone utilising one of the long-stay bays should collect a permit from one of the four buildings they are visiting and display the slip in their windscreen.

The scheme operates between 7.30 am and 8 pm on weekdays and between 7.30 am and 1 pm on Saturdays.

There are no reserved bays in the car park.
