Saundersfoot Community Council has elected its new chair for 2024-25.
At the recent general meeting of the Community Council, members elected Cllr Nicola Cleevely as Chair for financial year 2024/25.
She signed the declaration of Office and was sworn in as Chair. Cllr Dean Ludlow was elected as Vice Chair.
In an address to fellow councillors, outgoing Chair Cllr Colin Evans said that 2023-24 had presented ‘several difficulties’ for the Council.
“Due to long-term sickness, we had to operate without a clerk for several months. Moreover, we were working at a reduced capacity as some councillors had resigned,” he commented.
“Despite these challenges, we came together as a team and successfully organised several events for the benefit of our community in Saundersfoot.
“We managed to recruit a temporary clerk, and are now advertising for a permanent clerk.
“I am pleased to say that we have new councillors who bring different skills and experiences to our team. This will only enhance our effectiveness in achieving our aims for the next 12 months.
“I would like to wish my successor the best of luck for the upcoming year.”
The Council currently has one vacancy for a Councillor, with the position to be filled by co-option.
