A Sunday morning rock fall has given cause for concern for villagers in Saundersfoot.

The landslip took place above The Strand, with debris from the rock fall landing on the pavement below and causing considerable damage to a parked VW Golf car.

Pembrokeshire County Council has erected barriers around the debris at the location, which has been the scene for previous landslips in recent years.

A spokeperson for Pembrokeshire County Council, who received a call about the incident at 9.45 am that morning, commented: “The Council is obviously concerned about the condition of the cliffs, and is aware of the wider implications in terms of public safety.

“However, the cliffs at this location are privately owned and not part of the public highway.

“Pembrokeshire County Council will be evaluating this latest rockfall and deciding on further actions in due course,” they added.
