Members of the Tenby Round Table raised funds for British Heart Foundation Cymru to help fight for every heartbeat. A donation of £200 was presented by Mr. David Booton from the Round Table to Ralph Dunbar, chairman of Narberth BHF Cymru branch.
Ralph Dunbar said: “Thank you so much to Tenby Round Table for their wonderful donation. Heart disease remains the biggest killer in Wales. The charity’s work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are changing the fight against heart disease. There is still much work to be done to fight this disease and the devastation it causes. I would like to thank our branch members and everyone who supported the event which raised a considerable amount of funds for BHF Cymru.”
Jayne Lewis, BHF Cymru’s local fundraising manager, said: “I would like to thank Tenby Round Table for supporting BHF Cymru and also to the help and support of the Narberth BHF branch. Our local BHF branch members in Narberth have inspired many local people to come on board with us to fundraise for our work - providing local defibrillators, support and guidance to heart patients and powering our research.
“Our research journey over the last 50 years has been phenomenal,” she added. “But with over 350,000 in Wales still living with the burden of heart disease we have a lot further to go. Until research provides all the answers, we are committed to supporting heart patients and their families to get the best possible care and advice.”
