With Redberth Croft CIC in Pembrokeshire excited to announce plans for a new community-focused ‘market garden’ - local residents and businesses are invited to put forward their input to help ‘grow something amazing!’
“The project has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust and Barchester's Charitable Foundation, as well as the dedicated efforts of our incredible volunteers engaged in our Micro-Enterprise Start-Up Program,” said founder of Redberth Croft CIC, Daisy Coleman, a military veteran,
“Their hard work and commitment played a key role in securing the funding to bring this vision to life.”
Redberth Croft CIC is a community farm and equine-assisted activity centre near Kilgetty, that is dedicated to promoting social inclusion, environmental conservation, and sustainable practices.
The organization empowers individuals of all abilities, including veterans, ALN youth, and those at risk of social exclusion, by providing a space for healing, learning, and growth.
The ‘market garden’ project is set to launch in 2025, and will provide:
• Fresh, locally grown produce to the community;
• Create opportunities for education and training in sustainable horticulture;
• Host workshops, events, and community celebrations;
• Serve as a space for volunteers to connect with nature and each other.
“This ‘market garden’ isn’t just about growing food; it’s about growing connections, opportunities, and well-being for everyone in our community,” explained Daisy.
“The dedication of our volunteers in the Micro-Enterprise Start-Up Program has been truly inspiring, and their hard work has helped make this project possible.
“We’re deeply grateful for their efforts and the support of the Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust and Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
“Together, we’re planting seeds for a brighter future!
“To ensure the ‘market garden’ meets the needs of our community, we’re inviting local residents, businesses, and community members to share their thoughts through our short survey,” continued Daisy.
“Your feedback will guide decisions on what to grow, how to distribute produce, and what kind of activities and events to offer.”

“We’re also calling on anyone interested in volunteering, whether you have a green thumb, event planning skills, or just a passion for community projects.”
Redberth Croft also recently launched the ‘Hedging Your Vets’ project - which is designed to provide not only practical skills but also therapeutic benefits, as participants engage with nature and experience the camaraderie of working alongside others.
The project runs through the winter months, equipping veterans and the wider community with skills in hedgerow restoration, a practice that plays a crucial role in enhancing local biodiversity and ecosystem health.
Funded in part by the Port of Milford Haven, the 'Hedging Your Vets' project aligns with the fund’s focus on creating sustainable, resilient environments and vibrant, prosperous communities.
“Thanks to the generous support from the Port of Milford Haven Community Fund, we’re able to provide a much-needed program that empowers veterans and marginalized individuals, giving them practical skills and a sense of purpose,” added Daisy.
