J. J. Morris, Auctioneers, have reaffirmed their commitment to the farming community of a very large area by re-opening Crymych Sheep Market (previously run by Mr. Barrie Thomas, St. Florence) which had been closed since last spring. The re-opening on Wednesday of last week had been delayed due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease and despite the fact that the sheep trade has re-adjusted there was an encouraging entry of 799 breeding ewes and rams, cull ewes and store lambs with healthy competition amongst the numerous buyers present. Prior to the commencement of the sale, Mr. John Nicholas - for J. J. Morris - took the opportunity to thank the owners of the market, the Crymych Market Hall Committee, and the local community for their support in allowing the mart to become re- established. "A vital role in rural communities such as Crymych," he said. He added that his company hoped that the mart would develop alongside their existing marts at Cardigan and Whitland and announced that the sales - to be managed by Mr. Dyfan Davies - will be held fortnightly in future on alternate Wednesdays commencing at 11 am.
